• Postcards From the Past is my brother’s video about his genealogy discoveries that inspired the Yizkor Series.

• The Yizkor Story begins with a collection of water-damaged photographs that came from my grandmother’s home.

The Hebrew word yizkor means remember.

Rabbi Shoshana Boyd Gelfand tells us “. . . even though we can no longer have an actual relationship with the people we have lost, we can have a dynamic and changing relationship through our memory of them. In this way, our memories of our loved ones literally keep them alive.” Perhaps the best I can do is create imagined memories.
